The Lord is at Hand

"The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." I was thinking about this passage today from Philippians 4:5-6. It captured my thoughts, and I was trying to phrase it in a different way and apply it to our situation with Ian: The Lord is all over this one. He's not far off. He's very much involved. He's on top of it. It hasn't escaped his notice a bit. Because he's at hand, I'm to obey the command, "do not be anxious about anything." "In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving," I need to let my requests be made known to God.

This is the same thing Ian needs to do.

Jesus, help Ian to continue to be in faith. Heal him from head to toe. Bring him back to us. Thank you that we can come to you with our requests. Thank you that you rule over our circumstances. Help us to continue to lay our requests at your feet. Help us not to be anxious about anything.

Thank you for joining us in prayer.

Steve

I am always encouraged how this passage continues. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus." His word is true and He is always faithful to keep His promises. Let His peace flow through you and anxious thoughts can't reside in a heart guarded by Him.

Dear brother Steve: You continue to teach me much through your postings. I am praying today that you and your family will continue to run and not grow weary. And I pray for Ian, that he would be healed and wake up! SDG! -tim

Your blog has been a continual proclamation of God's faithfulness to his weak people. It reminds me of David's claim in Psalm 59:16-17 "But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your stedfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you. O God. are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love.

To Steve: I picture your face each time you write on the blog, as I do with Larissa's. The picture of Ian today...ah, that is what I praying earnestly towards. Through this journey up the "Hill of Difficulty" (Pilgrim's Progress) you have shephered our hearts well. I feel your anguish, hope and grace...God Bless. I continue to believe that we WILL see the goodness of God in the land of the living. GLA
