Update

Steve is out of surgery and the doctor thought that it went well. But it's not all good news. The tumor was cancerous- treatable but not curable. Right now Steve is being held under with medication, but they will periodically bring him up to see what his functions are. He is also on a respirator. We will know what the lasting effects of the tumor and seizues will be in the next 48 hours. Within that time period we will be able to see if there has been damage from the events of today. That will then deterime further treatment.

I will try to keep the blog updated- instead of emails or texts, please check here as it's easier to write it once.

We are asking for no visitors at this time. Please call the Murphy's house or my cell phone if you need to get in touch with anyone.

Thank you.

Larissa

Know that many in Lancaster are lifting Steve up to the Great Physician, who has Steve in the palm of His hand. The Minich family is praying that "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

Asking Him,
Mike and Sue

I have just placed Stephen on the prayer chain at my former church in Latrobe (U.P.) - many prayers are being sent. Our Heavenly Father will hold you all in His loving arms. Love, Rene

Steve and Mary,

I am so sorry to hear about this. Lynn and I will pray for you and your family. I look forward to the day when we all are in a better place as our Lord comforts us with his return. Please take comfort in all these points of the compass that care about the Murphy family.

Dear Murphy Family~

When we heard the news about Steve, we were surprised. As we pondered the news into the evening hours, we were freshly reminded that nothing is outside of God's plan. We do not understand but we can trust that God is always good and he always has his best for us.

Father,

We do not understand your ways. Our hearts and minds are unable to grasp the depth of your love for us but we know that you love us deeply. We thank you for your care and provision for us.

Lord, we come before you on behalf of Steve. You created him and molded him in your hands. You know every detail of his life and every hair on his head. His days are seasoned with your mercy and kindness.

Father, we pray that you would heal Steve. We pray that the surgery far exceeded what the doctors thought went well. We pray for no lasting effects from the seizures.

We trust Lord that you have handpicked each doctor and nurse that is caring for and will care for Steve throughout this time. We ask that you would impart wisdom to them beyond their abilities.

Please hold Mary and her family securely in your hands. If fear would tempt them to doubt, I pray that you would quickly remind them of your unfailing faithfulness to them. Your word speaks to us about peace that passes all understanding. Father, impart this measure of peace to them. Build their faith during these difficult days.

Father, we pray and ask for all these things in your name but not our will be done but your will be done.

Amen.

Praying for you,
Paul and Lynn

Dear Murphy family & Larissa ~

I echo this prayer:

"Please hold Mary and her family securely in Your hands.

Amen.
Praying for you, Paul and Lynn"

Lord, please strengthen, tenderly lead, tightly hold & vigorously impart hope in Mary, the 'children' and Larissa.
