Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Who ever lives and pleads for me

Singing this at Care Group tonight, I was reminded that this is still true of Ian. Jesus still lives and pleads for Ian. Jesus still loves Ian with a love that we cannot even comprehend. Not a day goes by that God does not supply Ian with all the grace that he needs. Every day of this trial has been ordained by God and it will not last one day longer than it should.

Ian has been awake for longer periods of time than we've ever noticed. He's pretty much awake all day now without many naps. He was very awake tonight too and made it through most of Care Group. He also did a great job sitting up tonight and is working so hard to learn how to keep himself balanced. I don't know how he does it- God must be giving him so much strength to keep fighting to do absolutely everything.

Please pray that Ian would be reminded of all of God's faithfulness and goodness to Him in the past in a way that encourages him for his future.

Thank you for praying

Larissa

Dear Larissa,
It is so important to know how God sees us, His children and to meditate on that. A child that knows they are loved and cared about is a child that is secure, assured and much more able to love others as he himself is loved. My favorite translation of Jeremiah 29:11 says:"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord... (many know this scripture as "the plans that I have for you")God's thoughts toward us, His children are "of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." He listens to us when we pray and promises that we will find Him when we search for Him with all our heart. As you and Ian wait upon the Lord, I pray that He blesses you with knowing the thoughts that He thinks toward each of you. He loves you with an everlasting love....
Always praying, always rejoicing with you in our Heavenly Father's faithfulness and goodness,
Chris P.

Dear Larissa,
It was wonderful to meet you at Bethany's shower last month. Be blessed today. I wanted you to know that I am praying for Ian's complete healing. Let us not grow weary in asking the Lord to restore him... :) Love, Janet S.

Larissa....

Would you guys mind if I copy what Steve wrote about Alivia after she died and post it on my blog also? I want to do a tribute to her and thought all the words of others were so amazing. Let me know.

Read an intesting story in "Prevention" magazine about a woman coming out of a coma. She had been a dentist previously, and it sounds as if she and Ian are experiencing much the same....I will have to get it to you. Gigi
P.S. And of course, I am praying every day.....

Dear Larissa,
Thank you for this post...more encouragement again!
You said, "God must be giving him so much strength to keep fighting to do absolutely everything." Yes, He is giving Ian strength! And He's giving strength to you and the Murphys, too. Remember, Jesus said that appart from Him we can do...nothing! And that means, well...it means just what it says!
:-)

Still praying!

I think this is the article that Gigi was talking about:

http://www.prevention.com/article/0,5778,s1-1-74-206-8085-1,00.html

Or, if this link doesn't work, go to www.prevention.com and search for "coma" and the article comes up.
