I was thinking today that it would be really cool to be able to read to Ian a list of the people who are reading this blog and praying for him. So, if you read the blog and pray for Ian, leave a comment on this post with your name and where you're from. I think it would be very encouraging for him as well as for us.
Thank you again for praying.

Larissa

Ian - I had a hard day at work today, and then I read you blog. I feel stupid for thinking I have any hard days. I am praying for you so that God's power is made great in your weakness.

PrayForIan is open in my browser all the time and I check it morning and evening for updates. Ian and Larissa are also on my prayer calendar for each day’s prayer time ...

Lydia, the 13-year-old daughter of friends, was struck by a large truck while getting off her school bus on 17 May. Lydia was thrown 100' by the impact, landing on the highway. She is still in a coma, but small improvements are showing. She still has no sight and cannot speak, and of course the prognosis is uncertain.

Please Pray For Lydia

I discovered this blog as my husband and I are nearing our 24th wedding anniversary.
It has been a marriage of "true love" and "Christ centered love" that has recently been so battered by the circumstances of life, and the enemy of our soul...
I have found myself at times surrounded in darkness and then I found your video with Piper's quotes...
and it is true. There have been days where nothing but Christ could sustain our marriage, and your video gives loving evidence to the strength of committed christian love. God Bless!

Hi Ian and Larissa,

I came upon your story on Godtube today. I remember hearing it a while back on Chris Fabry's show.
It's such an amazing love story. God really wrote a beautiful love story for both you. I'm really touched. I wish you all the best in life and tons of blessing from God in this life and in the next to come.

Desiring God is in our google reader. That is where we heard of you both. I really appreciate you guys and the faith the Lord has given to you in the midst of this journey. As you come to mind, you're in my prayers...
Thank you for boldly and openly living out your faith. You have been an encouragement to me and have spurred me on to recommit to living more intentional.

Our pastor used your testimony in our service last Sunday as an example of a Christ centered marriage. You won't ever know how much of an impact this has made on my life and the couples around us. Thank you for the example and know that we pray for both of you as you continue to grow as "one flesh".

Ian and Larissa, your story is so beautiful. I am praying that God will continue to heal you, Ian, and give you both strength. He is faithful!

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk, and not be faint.

Praying Colossians 1:9-12 over you guys.

Also praying for endurance and patience, by grace!

And also praying that the Lord would make you and your marriage like a bright city on a hill, displaying the goodness and love of the Lord - but the city has a lighthouse, and the whole city is on fire. That would be a stinkin' bright city!

As a young newlywed, your love story has inspired me beyond words... but more than that, your commitment to each other and to God leaves me speechless. Thank you. Thank you for allowing God to work through the both of you. Thank you for being a Light to total strangers.

After having read your story, I don't think I will ever be the same.

Thank you for deflecting the temptation of bitterness and spite. I always read Psalm 23 when even intense affliction has me down - our cups really do run over. I will regularly be praying for you two.

Dear Ian and Larissa,
I've never met you and probably never will this side of heaven. Going through my own trials in my daily walk with the Lord, your posts are a place where I go to when discouragement hits me. Why? Because you're heroes? No and yes! It's so encouraging to see GOD in your life! You stand - more often than we know, with feeble knees, but still steadfast, because you stand on the Rock! That makes you both heroes! Keep on keeping on! Don't give up!

I am so pleased to have found your blog. I too am blessed to be with a wise, and beautiful man, and I hope to marry him someday. When I shared your story with him, it changed our relationship in such a new and wondrous way that I cannot express in words. In short, your marriage and witness does not go unnoticed. I shall pray for you both.

Here is an update on my comment of 24.6.12

Dear Ian and Larissa,

One thing has not changed ... PrayForIan is still open in my browser all the time, and I continue to check it morning and evening for updates.

Lydia spent two months in a coma, then gradually was released from it to the point she could be moved out of acute care to a rehab hospital. Two months later she was allowed weekend visits home to see her younger brothers and to have some friends come to see her.

Because Lydia's home visits had been going so well, and because her return to the rehab hospital was becoming more emotionally traumatic for her, this past week she was returned home for good, with local rehab providers coming to her family home, and Lydia visiting a local rehab office one day a week to use equipment that cannot be brought to her.

She still has "a long row to hoe" [her extended family
are all market gardeners!] and her Mum and Dad often cause her frustration by having to ask her to repeat things over and over until they can understand what she is trying to say ... but progress is happening, little by little.

No one knows how much she will come back to her former self, nor what the new Lydia will be like, but she continues to surprise and delight with tiny fragments of old memories coming to the fore from time to time.

Please Pray For Lydia

With every blessing to you both, and thanks to God for the great inspiration you provide to all of us who follow you here.

I am praying for you Ian, and I am praying for Larissa as well. As you joined in marriage, I cannot pray for one without praying for the other. Your blog is a daily source of inspiration and I thank you for your honesty in sharing your feelings. Life becomes overwhelming sometimes. Coming to your blog shifts my perspective, helps to readjust my focus to the glory of God. There are great things in store for you and for your marriage. Much more happiness is on the way. God Bless!

Dear Ian and Larissa,
I saw your video several months ago on fb- posted by Nate Lawrenson. I think of and pray for you often. Your testimony is wonderfully and incredibly thought provoking and moving. It causes me to contemplate my relationship with Jesus and my loving earthly husband even more. I am definitely ready for your book. Can't wait to see it and buy it! God bless you both!
