whirlwind

it's times like this that i wish i had a whole stockpile of pre-written blog posts that i could choose at random. but, fortunately or unfortunately, i am too normal for that and so we have days without posts.

ian is still working so hard at walking. his therapist likes him to stand one hour each night in addition to walking and all of the therapies he has throughout the day.

if you think of us, please pray for wisdom and discretion for decisions that we have coming our way about taking our story more public and more secular. (To clarify, we are not making our story secular but rather are considering a few secular mediums/outlets to deliver our story.)

thank you, always

Praying here too. Much love to you.

Don't you love that a Christian can say "much love to you" to another Christian, online, not really knowing each other well at all, and really mean it from the heart? I love that about being in Christ.

You are both in my prayers... ALWAYS. I can't get you out of my heart and mind since first learning of your story recently. Always keep Jesus as the center of what you do. Nothing else matters.

Ian and Larissa,

Another verse that has really blessed us as we've faced major decisions is Psalm 25:12:
"Who is the man who fears the Lord?
Him will He instruct in the way that he should choose."

We focus on wrestling in prayer for more fear of the Lord and rehearse what it means to fear Him, while resting our souls in the Lord and trusting that He will direct our path. He has been so faithful with each decision! He is so good and kind!

Praying that you will be blessed with the wonderful gift of additional reverence for the God you both so love.

Praying that God will guide and counsel you.

Praying...

As another person who commented wrote--

Much love to you,
Denise

Hi Ian,
Thank you for sharing the videos of walking. As I watched, I thought of how I (and almost everyone else) was unable to imagine what you were actually doing. Unable to comprehend the mental strength, the humility, the faith necessary to take a small step. I was reminded that 'perspective' is everything. I was also reminded of "The Widow's Offering" Luke 21:1-4).

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury [healthy people walking around]. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins [Ian trying to take a single step and learn to walk again]. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others [Ian has run faster and farther today than any other person around]. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth [it was easy as pie for these folks to walk around]; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on [but Ian - even with a traumatic brain injury and being physically disabled - mustered up every ounce of mental and physical strength to take a single step].”

May God continue to help you and strengthen your body and mind.

-Steve
