Ian, did you talk to David about the cancer?

once I said it, I realized it's a question I would have hoped to not ever ask Ian. Ian's dermatologist called to say that his biopsy from his mole looks to be melanoma. It took a few extra people to review it and confirm. He has recommended us to a doctor in Pittsburgh who will take additional samples to confirm it is cancerous and then check the nearest lymph nodes.

Ian asked for prayer that he would be ok and that the doctors and nurses would have wisdom. I'll add the prayer that this would be an isolated incident.

Thanks
I&L

Dear God, thank you for Ian and Larissa. Such beautiful people who have been absolutely inspiring!

We lift up Ian into your hands. We ask for your hand to be upon him even as he gets diagnosis and treatment for melanoma.

May the doctors and nurses who treat him have godly wisdom and insight, and be able to give wise yet loving counsel.

We pray also for the family, that your peace would fill their hearts even in this time.

Thank you Lord. In Jesus name we pray and ask all this, AMEN.

Father, I lift up Ian to you. I pray for complete healing over his body and that you would give the doctors wisdom as to how exactly to treat him. I thank you that ultimately You are in complete control.
I pray for Larissa, I pray that you would continue you to feel her up with your strength and patience. Continue to bless her in the midst of trials. Continue to hold her heart. I pray that she fully trust You in all that may happen/is happening.
In Jesus' precious name I pray,
Amen.

For Ian and Larissa:

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

To You, in You, and through You, Who Is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. AMEN.

I am sorry to hear this, but I know as do you, that God has a purpose and plan in it all. I just said a prayer for the two of you and will continue to do so. Keep your eyes on the Lord and allow Him to be your strength. And know that the Lord is using you both in amazing ways. You both are such an inspiration and encouragement. Thank you for sharing your lives.

My dad just went through this exact thing. It is scary for sure - everything came up clear for him - praying that it will be the same for Ian and praying for peace for you both while you wait. I stumbled on your blog a few months ago and am inspired by you both. Blessings to you.

Lord God, loving Father.
You are eternal and eternally good. Often our human capacity is too small to understand and things weigh on our hearts that are so heavy. Lord, you know Ian and Larissa and their hearts. You know the wight they carry and the cross they bear. Lord, let their cross be burdened with your glory. Give them glimpses of what it is they are suffering for. Let them be lifted and encouraged by the cross Jesus bore for them and the wounds He still has because of our sin. Thank you for your great sacrifice. We pray for Ian and Larissa as they are dealing with the reality of melanoma. We pray that you would save them from this trial, if you will. We pray for healing. You are sovereign. Please help us all to remember that and encourage Ian and Larissas hearts. Surround them with loving family and friends who lift them up and care for them; who remind them what they believe when they cant seem to remember. Thank you for Ian and Larissa and the eternal impact they have had on so many lives. We surrender to your kind heart and wise plan. In Jesus name, amen.
