One big step

At the end of the summer, we will be taking our first step toward what we hope will be the start of a new life mission for us. We will be leaving our comfy little rental house and moving into the room that was built for Ian six years ago at his parents house.

While it sometimes feels like a big cost to leave the perfect front porch and all of our memories, we're trusting that God will grow us and glorify Himself through this.

Our goal in moving is somewhat simple - to finally truly focus on writing a book. Ian will be so well cared for being back with his family while I write. And I will have more time for him when I'm not writing since many life responsibilities will be on hold.

Please pray for us as we seek wisdom on the book, publishing options and for God to give us the words to write. Most importantly, that our marriage would grow sweeter each day.

Always,
I and L

Wow-much change for you all. Change is good for me...helps me continually remember Who is in total control of all things for my good and His glory.
Praying also for Mary as she misses Steve.

That does sound like such big changes... I can't wait until y'all do write a book, as I know it will be a blessing to so many. Your story touches everyone who hears already (including me).
I will be praying for the transition, for the words to come from God Himself, and that your marriage grows sweeter by the day :)

I just found your blog.

Have watched your video that was posted @ Desiring God 3 times; each time it makes me cry.

What a blessing it is to see God glorified in you both. Praying that the book will continue to use you to exalt His name through your sufferings. Though each of us is imperfect, we serve a perfect God.

Love~

Sorry you have to leave your beautiful home. But home is where your hearts are, and I'm sure this move will bring your more blessings than ever. Praying that the book will soon come together. So looking forward to the day I can read it! Continued prayers, God's blessings on you both. I love you both like you're family AND YOU ARE - the family of God! Rene

This strangely coincides with my life: my husband and I feel strongly called to leave our perfect one-bedroom rental and move into my parents' basement so he can go back to school. I am wrestling with my feelings about what I will lose and especially about moving back into a house that holds over 13 years of painful memories. But there is no more perfect place to be than in God's will. I can't wait to read your book!
