Ian's accident was four years ago today. So happy that he is my husband but still wish it had never happened.

I have been thinking about you today. I was remembering one of my favorite Spurgeon quotes: "Patience, then, believer. Eternity will right the wrongs of time." May God grant us all patience to wait for Him with joy. God bless you, Murphys.

I'm sure it's hard every day although you both have such good perspective...living for the next life and for the glory of God. But I know it is very difficult. Praying for you.

I found your blog just a few weeks ago and have been fascinated, moved and challenged by your commitment to Ian. I have prayed many times that the Lord will heal him completely and make your marriage a great adventure.

I understand your willingness to die to self and be an instrument of grace in Ian's life . . . I also know as a woman that the price you are paying is the ultimate price. May the Lord bless you with a great sense of destiny as you lay down your life to bring Him glory. Only eternity will reveal the impact of your surrender.

Of course you will always wish the accident had never happened. Don't you ever allow anyone to tell you that was the best thing that could have ever happened (you know all that goes. What we do know is that our Sovereign God uses all things for our ultimate good - to transform us into the image of our beautiful Savior. He also gives us the grace to desire His glory and our sanctification above all earthly (legitimate) goods, including a certain type of marriage.

I understand what it means to be called to die daily. I also know that He causes us to be willing to do what we could never will ourselves to do. In that surrender is our ultimate liberation. I know you understand what I'm talking about.

Sister, you are in my prayers.

In the Lamb,

Dulce

Just wanted to thank you for your testimony of what the Lord is capable of doing even if we'll never understand.

What a great picture of Ian! It is so cool to see how far God has brought him in four years. Praying that He blesses your marriage and continues to draw you both closer to Himself...

I know that you don't know me and probably never will. But I am a college student in Athens, Ohio studying photography and have been following Lydia's blog for a while now. I recently came across the post of your wedding photos and made my way over to your blog and am totally blown away. I literally sat here and read your story and cried. The love that I see in the photos and through the words in the blog are so inspiring. I am so happy for you! I will always remember you all in my prayers. God Bless.
