Ian continues to work very hard to talk to us. He's been doing really really well in speech therapy. I went with him on Monday and he said about four or five sentences with his voice. Apparently he was doing it today too in speech. He is mouthing words all the time and trying really hard to get his voice out at the same time.

While this is wondrerful, it also presents a lot of really frustrating and challenging situations. Please continue to pray for Ian's speech- that he would have the knowledge to get his voice working when he needs to, that he could form words, and for patience.

Thank you, as always...

Larissa

I'm not sure what to say... but I feel I just need to let you know that I'm praying. I'm crying as a read this one. 1 yr ago, 3 weeks into my marriage, I unexpectedly became very sick with what the doctor's call an "undiagnosable disease"... I had seizures several times a day and was sick to the point of being unable to walk, talk, feed myself, or even move without help. My husband is a hero to me. Because of the way he has loved me... God didn't let me forget the gospel and how He was still good to me even in the midst of our suffering. I'm getting better without explination. I don't think I'll never know why God allowed our first year of marriage to look that way... I don't know why I share this with you other then to say... thank you for loving Ian. You may never know how much God is using you in his life... to speak truth to him in a way that words cannot. Please keep up your faith. Sometimes God simply reveals himself to us in the form of sustaining grace. I'm praying.

We are praying and we thank God for answering prayers in this way although we know that even if we had not seen any progress, He would still have been answering our prayers. We have been amazed by your patience and love as well.
As I read your post, I am filled with many questions about how much Ian can think, whether you can understand what he is mouthing, etc. Whether these questions are answered or not is not really important because we are praying and the Lord who knows all hears.

The next post answers my questions. Thanks. This then is REAL progress. Praise the Lord. I also remember your post about grief and how the joy of this progress and the grief are two different things that coexist. Praying for you all.
