April 30th

One year ago today, Ian came back home after seven months in the hospital. I can't believe we all ever made it through those seven months. I also can't believe that we're still where we are. Ian has made progress, but I know that I was thinking being home would wake him up in no time.

From one of Mark's latest songs that I listen to every time I get in my car now. and I'm trying desperately to believe this in my heart:

Oh let Your will be done in me
In Your love I will abide
Oh I long for nothing else as long
As You are glorified
Are You good only when I prosper
And true only when I’m filled
Are You King only when I’m carefree
And God only when I’m well
You are good when I’m poor and needy
You are true when I’m parched and dry
You still reign in the deepest valley
You’re still God in the darkest night

Thank you for praying. And thanks Mark for another great song.

Larissa

those lyrics are the truth...and the truth will set us free...even though we have learned the truth is exactly what we thought it would be. thanks for sharing truth with us. g

“In the darkest night of our soul, we have something to hold on to that Job never knew. We know Christ crucified. Christians have learned that when there seems to be no other evidence of God’s love, they cannot escape the cross” (D.A. Carson quoted by C.J. Mahaney in ‘Humility: True Greatness’).

Thank you Larissa, and thank you Ian and the Murphys for all that God is teaching so many of us through you. Your pain is so great, greater than I can imagine, yet God gives you the grace to get through another day...and another day......and another day....and you still praise Him. We pray for more grace for all of you. It's been so long and the wait must be nearly unbearable. Our hearts ache for you. We rejoice in each new bit of progress, yet we know for you that the days are long and the bits of progress must seem few and far between at times. We pray that you will know God's immeasurable love for each of you. It is wonderful that the One who holds our future and plans our future is in control and not us. Gina Plain
