Slow progress

John 1:12-13 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

God breathed life into Ian's body and God has spared and sustained his life and God gave him new life. God can make him well again.

Ian continues to make very slow progress, but sometimes that takes him through valleys that seem like setbacks. He's been struggling with a sore throat which makes him not want to swallow, and he was responsive to the therapists only toward the end of their session with him.

Pray that the Lord would heal his throat. Pray that he would talk to us again. Pray for grace for all of us. I know you are. Thank you.

You repair all that we have torn apart and
You unveil a new beginning in our hearts and
We stand grateful for all that has been left behind and
All that goes before us

You've got all things suspended
All things connected
Nothing was forgotten
Your love is perfect
You are our healer
And you know what's broken
And we're not a mystery to you
(to you, oh Lord, to you)

We will dance 'cause you restore the wasted years and
You will sing over all our coming fears and
We'll stand grateful for all that has been left behind and all that goes before us

Lord, you mend the breech
And you break every fetter
You give us your best, but what we thought was better
And you are to be praised
You are to be praised

To be born of the will of God...What an awesome right and privilege to be granted by Him. To ponder this alone should blow our minds. I am so thankful for the right perspective that the Lord has granted you and your family Steve. It is a great privilege to pray for all of you.

I pray for Ian everyday and all of you also. I know the emotional roller coaster this can have you on, the anticipation of good news, the celebration of the smallest bit of progress and yes the disappointment of setbacks. However I know that God is faithful and my prayer is that he will continue to strengthen you and your family as you minister to Ian and that Ian will continue to make more and more progress and have less and less setbacks.
God bless,

I wonder, if you asked Bob, if a dose of Tylenol, or Ibuprophen about 45-1hour before the session might help him with the pain. I'm not sure what he's allowed to take, but a pain reliever might alleviate his throat pain just enough to get him through the therapy.

Just a thought,

i'm so happy that he seems to be slowly, but surely, healing. I pray that God's will be done and that everyone's hearts in this situation are calmed and wrapped in the warmth of His love.
